The Megaliths Museum in Wéris is devoted to the Neolithic and Megalithism, or the art of using huge boulders to create sacred monuments. But in Wéris you can also discover a unique megalithic site...
Wéris, a charming little village, one of the « Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia », is far and wide renowned for its exceptional prehistoric site: a megalithic field with menhirs and dolmens that were arranged in several parallel alignments.
The menhirs and dolmens - that are more than 5.000 years old - are all made of puddingstone.
Take a visit to our museum, and discover the culture of the dolmen-builders as well as the Neolithic period. And maybe it will reveal some of the many secrets of the megalithic site....
You can experience the magic of the dolmens, menhirs and legendary stones at first hand, by exploring the village surroundings via one of our walking trails.
And the cherry on the cake : a nice cool glass of Dolmenius (beer) on our lovely terrace !
