What is it you do?
"We operate a tourist camp site covering some 10 hectares on the south side of a wooded hill, that has been welcoming campers since 1932. We offer traditional pitches as well as a selection of Norwegian cottages, mobile homes and safari tents."
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
"The camp site lies within the Geopark, and both the site itself and the surrounding area share all the characteristics of the plant and animal life to be found in the Calestienne. Our motto:"Le Roptai: in the green Ardennes, naturally".
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
"Energy saving is one of our top priorities. That means installing LED bulbs, monitoring meters and raising staff awareness of the importance of saving energy. We also make sure waste is sorted, and provide campers with free recycling waste bags and explanatory leaflets."
