What is it you do?
‘Le Corti is a self-catering cottage located in the picturesque village of Belvaux, in the commune of Rochefort. Three beautiful bedrooms provide superior comfort for 6 travellers, with a breathtaking view of the rocks of Belvaux.50 m from the Lesse river, our gîte is a perfect starting point for a variety of walks and cycle rides. It is also just a short walk from the Géobalade trail ‘A la rencontre de l'ermite de Resteigne’. For those who love horse riding, you can also leave your horses in our meadows free of charge."
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
‘The Geopark is totally complementary to the way we have designed our accommodation. The ecological construction of the building was important to us, and now it's also important for us to promote it through a tourism operator with sustainable values. We want to promote a quality service while making our customers aware of our sustainable, ecological values and the local, artisanal products that we promote.’
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
‘We obviously pay close attention to waste sorting. During the construction of the building, we made sure that it was as energy-efficient as possible. We systematically promote local products from Geopark partners in our gîte. It's also important for us to inform our guests about partner restaurants in the region’.
