What is it you do?
"Our 3 épi-rated countryside gîte, ideally located in the foothills of the Ardennes, is a converted cow-byre dating from 1816, and sleeps 6. All the charm of the past plus modern comfort and convenience. We really enjoy welcoming guests for a stay in the peace and quiet of the countryside."
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
"My wife and I are geographers and so particularly sensitive to the architectural and geological heritage of this lovely region. It would be an immense source of pride for our gîte to be included in this partnership with the UNESCO Global Geopark that puts our region in the limelight."
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
"We have installed several solar panels around the farm, and these generate all the electricity we need to be self-sufficient. While the gîte was under construction, we reinsulated the whole building. We practise and encourage waste sorting, and provide our guests with explanatory leaflets. We enjoy being part of village life, and we make sure to recommend local restaurants and producers to our guests."
