What is it you do?
"L'Escale buissonnière is a gîte in the heart of nature, in an authentic old farmhouse dating from 1865, completely renovated in 2020 to offer its guests every comfort. Three beautiful bedrooms provide superior comfort for 6 travellers, with uninterrupted views over the garden. The living room, with its open-plan kitchen and lounge, opens directly onto a vast terrace and an immense, peaceful garden."
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
"We want to make a concrete, local and lasting contribution to promoting our exceptional region. The Geopark Partner label would enable us to become directly involved in the UNESCO label, both as local people and as geologists. We are interested and motivated to play an active part in the life of the Geopark."
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
"We've renovated the gîte and our house ourselves, using environmentally-friendly materials (wood-fibre insulation) and complying with the latest energy standards (insulation, heating, etc.) We're developing outdoor areas that encourage biodiversity and have replanted an orchard. We have created walks that we make available to our guests free of charge."
