What is it you do?
“Our hotel offers 25 rooms, an indoor swimming pool and a sauna, plusfine dining in the hotel restaurant. We have been here in the centre of the village in Nassogne for 40 years; this is now the 3rd generation. Visitors can also enjoy our terraceand magnificent garden, a peaceful and delightful spot all year round.”
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
“We are very much committed to developing tourism in Nassogne and the surrounding region. We are keen for our visitors to enjoy a quality experience not just with us but throughout the region, as they explore. We believe the Geopark can add real value in that respect. Not only that, but we also want to improve our everyday practices in boththe hotel and the restaurant, so as to become more sustainable.”
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
“We have introduced a number of little changes to raise eco-friendly awareness in the hotel (soap distributors, encouraging guests not to change towels unnecessarily, etc.). In the restaurant, we pay particular attention to highlighting our use of local produce, such as meat from the local butcher's or cheese from a producer in the next village.”
