You are now in area that is renowned for its untouched natural environment, exceptional fauna and flora, untamed rivers and incredibly mineral resources. Help us preserve this exceptional natural heritage by following these guidelines:
- Please be discreet, remember that noise can be a nuisance.
- Don't scare the field animals. If you meet a farmer leading his herd, stand aside and let them through.
- Keep dogs on a leash and under tight control.
- Respect natural areas as well as the fauna and flora. Don't pick anything!
- Don't make fire (camp fire, barbecue....).
- Don't drop litter or dump rubbish.
- Stay on the paths and follow the permanent or temporary signposting.
- Please show the utmost respect for private property, do not enter before obtaining the owner's prior permission.
- When you meet other ramblers, please respect the rules of common courtesy at all times. Be friendly, say hello!
- Wild camping is forbidden by law. You can find a complete list of our campsites on the different websites.
- When parking your car, make sure it doesn't block passage or traffic.
For your own safety, we strongly recommend you follow these safety guide lines:
- During the hunting season, check the area's where a hunt is ongoing before starting your walk. A full list of hunts is available will be available via different websites as well as from the Tourist Information Centres.
- Make sure you take an ample supply of fresh drinking water.
- Walk on the pavement when there is one, if not walk on the left side of the road, facing upcoming traffic.
- Make sure that you are always clearly visible for drivers (wear bright colours).
- Please respect traffic laws which apply to country paths as well as to public roads. You also need to follow all traffic interdictions and restrictions.
- Wear appropriate walking shoes.
- Check the weather bulletin before setting out.
- Wear long clothes to avoid tick bites.
