What is it you do?
"The Famenne Art Museum traces a timeline of the region's heritage. Housed in a magnificent 18th century mansion in the historic centreof the town of Marche, the museum will transport you from prehistoric times all the way through to modern and contemporary art. The Merovingian and Carolingian periods are particularly well illustrated by a remarkable collection amassed from excavations in Wellin and Hamoir."
What prompted you to seek "Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark Partner" status?
"The Geopark is an area that has provided the resources for human settlement and laid the foundations for all the history retraced in our archaeological, art and ethnological collections. These two elements have shaped one another ever since, and are thus inextricably linked."
What is your approach to sustainable development and environment friendly practices?
"We have embarked on a community project entitled "If you can't come to the Museum, the Museum will come to you". We also organise outreach events on local themes for seniors who are no longer able to get to the Museum."
